I love my mandoline, I used it often. Thank you so much!!!!

Really really easy to use and to clean. I like that it doesn’t have a dozen attachments because for my use I need just slicing of various thickness. It makes onion soup a snap, I can get the onions really thin in what seems like moments. I have had mine for a few years my lasted purchase was a gift for my sister.

Best mandoline I have ever had! Compact and safe. The vegetable holder stores neatly on one side of the mandoline via a clip-lock. There is a nicely graduated turn-screw mechanism conveniently located on the end of the confortably-gripped handle. The vegetable holder device works well on a variety of different-sized vegetables and fruits. Of course the blade is extremely sharp. I will be interested to see how well it retains its edge since I am a stickler for sharp knives and keep mine constantly honed. Time will tell. Right now I love this mandoline.

Love this mandoline. I love the tactile adjustment knob and the serrated edge works really well.

I thought this mandolin was a bit pricey so I first hesitated in buying it but it turned out to be well worth the price. I have had two others, one expensive one that you had to change the blades, made well from stainless but very hard to use and another inexpensive plastic one. I donated both of them. This one is so easy to use especially sinceI have arthritis in my hands. I really like the fact that it is compact. Who has enough storage space! Thank you de buyer, you made my day!

I received this mandolin from DeBuyer for free in exchange for a review. I’ve never used a mandoline before, so I was excited to give it a try!
As fate would have it, my wife received a different brand mandoline as a gift, so I was able to compare the two. The other brand was what I would consider a standard straight blade (I’ll refer to it as the “competitor”), while the Kobra has a V-shaped blade.
Initial impressions was that the Kobra was of much higher quality. The competitor’s materials were clearly cheaper, the blade looked cheaper and actually had some very small dings on the blade edge. The competitor had a 3 depth adjustment switch, while the Kobra has a variable dial at the base of the handle that allows for a much greater range of thicknesses.
As far as cutting, I found this very interesting. As mentioned, I’ve never used a mandoline before so I started with the competitor. Cutting both vegetables and fruit with the competitor was pretty straight forward, although the cuts themselves were not super-clean which I attribute to the visibly cheaper blade. The competitor had a slider (essentially a small cup that holds the food, which travels up and down the mandoline). The slider helps keep food centered in the mandoline.
I found that slicing with the Kobra’s V-shaped blade had a small learning curve to it. If you don’t have the product centered as you cut, the food can wander and move a bit and produce an un-even slice. However, the more that I used the Kobra the easier it was to get the feel of the device, and produce clean cut vegetables and fruits.
The variable depth dial of the Kobra is great. I ended up using the Kobra to make a dutch apple pie (which my wife declared delicious), since I could get the precise apple thickness I wanted. The competitor’s 3 depth setting was not quite as precise as I desired.
Cleanup was super easy, as the Kobra’s documentation states that it is dishwasher safe. The competitor model did not specify, and the plastic was such that I was not comfortable with running it through the dishwasher.
To conclude, the Kobra had me on overall performance, after the slicing learning curve. For those who don’t want to deal with the learning curve, I would recommend either getting the DeBuyer Viper (which has a slider), or DeBuyer adding a slider to the Kobra. With that said, the quality of the Kobra is fantastic, and you can’t go wrong with this mandoline.

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I’ve now used it for fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. While it works for the meat and cheese, it really shines when using it to slice fruits and vegetables. You get easy even slices every time. Adjusting the thickness is simple with the knob. I hand washed it, which was a bit tricky. I believe it is dishwasher safe, but I didn’t try that because I have children all enough to get into the dishwasher and young enough to not be careful with a sharp tool like this. All in all, this is a great tool for my kitchen. It made it fun and easy to slice the tomatoes and pepperoni for my pizza last night!

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I found the Kobra mandolin to be streamlined in design as well as very stable when using it. I appreciated the fact that there were many thickness options which were conveniently located on the handle. The mandolin was very easy to clean and its compact design required little room for storage. I would highly recommend it as a great addition to any cook’s arsenal of tools

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I immediately wanted to use it for fajita night, and it "cut" my prep time in half. It made cutting peppers and onions a breeze and I felt safe and secure the entire time. I have a set of professional knives that I used regularly before obtaining the Kobra, but this mandoline makes me almost forget about them. I felt in control the entire time while using the Kobra, and clean up was a breeze: place it in the top rack of the dishwasher and wipe off the cutting board. No more painstakingly hand washing multiple knives. I like that the Kobra has a low profile and doesn't take up the entire counter top while using it. It is the perfect size to provide a workable surface but also leave room around me. I am eager to try my mother's scalloped potatoes recipe next with the mandoline, as that has always been a labor of love which I'm sure the Kobra will make lovelier and easier. Bien fait, de Buyer!

I received the KOBRA mandoline for free from de Buyer as part of their review program in exchange for my honest review. After testing the KOBRA slicing various vegetables, tomatoes, corn and even a small block of Parmigiano Reggiano, and highly recommend the KOBRA to anyone who is looking for a mandoline or have never tried using a mandoline. The KOBRA from de Buyer is very sharp, ergonomic, easy to use and clean, very sturdy and has incremental adjustments to the blade height using the handle; however, there are no multiple blades for different types of cuts---this was not a big deal to me as the KOBRA--with it's incremental adjustments--probably with cover 90% of my needs. Highly Recommend.

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I found the mandoline to be easy to use, extremely efficient and full of safety features. The non-slip legs keep the mandoline in place during use and the handle prevents your fingers from getting close to the blades. I was impressed with how fast I was able to get through slicing vegetables versus what using a knife would have taken me. This will be a real time saver for me. And the fact that it is dishwasher safe makes clean-up easy. I have never owned a mandoline, now I wish I had purchased one years ago, as I make salads virtually every day and this tool would have saved me hours of prep work.

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review.
I started using it, and immediately, it replaced my knives for my daily cuts. The V blade allows thin and precise cuts even on tomatoes and strawberries.
I used it to prepare a neapolitan style vegetarian pizza ( with squash, onion , mushroom and tomatoes ), rice with sauteed vegetables as well as fruit salads and the slices were excellent.
The dimensions are perfect for a good ergonomic, easy cleaning as well as storing.

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I have never used a Mandoline before and was excited (and nervous!) to try it. The first thing I noticed was on the packaging - the Kobra Mandoline comes in 4 colors. (The one I received was black.) It also has some great features that I didn't even think of. An ergonomic and anti-slip handle for a natural grip, anti-slip legs and an adjustable knob on the handle for the desired thickness. The most important feature for me was how sharp it was AND the fact that the protective pusher came with the Mandoline. The pusher was designed to be attached to and stored under the Mandoline when not in use, which I thought was kind of genius. No way it's getting misplaced! After I washed the Mandoline and pusher I gave it try with an apple. It felt like the most natural thing to try my first time. The prongs inside the pusher sank down on to apple easily and I adjusted the thickness a couple clicks so the it wasn't at its thinnest. The apple slid across the stainless steel plate and v-shaped micro-serrated blades smoothly. After the apple, I felt more confident and made a salad for lunch. I thinly sliced carrot, radish, cucumber and tomato. Then I threw them together with a baby spring mix, pumpkin seeds, goat cheese and homemade garlic herb dressing. While slicing the different vegetables, I learned that I had to adjust the thickness for the tomato because it was softer. Also, if I were doing a vegetable or fruit platter, I would wipe down in between items because some make more of a mess than others. The only thing I did not like was how much room it takes up to store. Finding a place for it out of kid reach, but still accessible was slightly challenging.

Love this mandolin! Might order more for gifts!

This is a fabulous basic mandolin. No fussing with million parts... simple adjustment in the handle for thickness. I use for Cucumber, potato, celery &onion. Cuts easily with every slice, no sticking. Easy clean up. Omg makes onion soup a snap! Fits in a drawer nicely; just a great add for the home cook .

This is a great mandolin with "infinite" number of size adjustments, sharp quick action blades and a safety handle included. A basic cutter that performs well for all slicing chores. I recommend this without hesitation for value and ease of use.
