Lunar New Year is on February 1st and is a significant holiday celebrated in several cultures. It is often celebrated the night before with a large feast with your loved ones, where each dish served represents a wish for the new year. A noodle dish is traditionally served on Lunar New Year to represent health and longevity.

Celebrate the year of tiger with this delicious recipe!🐯


  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup Teriyaki or stir fry sauce
  • 1 package of noodles of choice (Lo Mein or Udon)
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cayenne Pepper to taste
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Sesame Oil


Step 1. Cut the chicken breast up into small cubes and marinate them in teriyaki or stir fry sauce for at least 1 hour

Step 2. Chop the snow peas into chunky pieces and cut the carrot into thin slices

Step 3. Cook the noodles per package instructions

Step 4. Heat some oil in your wok, remove chicken from the marinade, add it to the wok and brown on all sides (save the marinade for later)

Step 5. Add the chopped veggies and sauté for 2 minutes on medium-high heat

Step 6. Over low heat, add salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and the remaining marinade sauce

Step 7. Add cooked noodles and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring regularly

Step 8. Turn off the heat, top off with sesame seeds and sesame oil, mix and serve. Garnish individual plates with an extra sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Tip: Stir fry is versatile and can be made with various vegetables and proteins. Try adding broccoli, baby corn, bell peppers, bok choy or any other veggies you like!
