Getting bored with the standard cheese pizza with marinara sauce? Try something different and new with this veggie pizza recipe. It turns out delicious whether you bake it in the oven or on the grill!


For the dough: 

1.5 cups all purpose flour 

1 Tbsp olive oil 

1/2 tsp fine salt 

1 tsp pizza yeast

Pizza Ingredients: 

5 Tbsp pizza sauce of your choice 

3 cooked artichokes 

2 mozzarella balls 

1 handful fresh arugula 

1 handful parmesan shavings 

3 Tbsp olive oil 

1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

1 Tbsp lemon juice 

1 small handful roasted pine nuts 

Salt (to taste) 

Pepper (to taste)



  1. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl
  2. Combine yeast with 4oz of warm water and mix well
  3. Pour into the bowl with flour and salt and add olive oil, mix well
  4. Dust your work surface with flour (or use a silicone mat!) and knead the dough by hand until it no longer sticks to your hands 
  5. Brush a large bowl with olive oil and place the ball of dough in the bowl, cover and let it rise


  1. Preheat your grill 
  2. Cut the artichokes into quarters 
  3. Press the pizza dough into a pizza pan and brush the sauce of your choice (tastes great with a white sauce!) 
  4. Cook on the grill for 15 minutes
  5. Remove crust from the grill and add crumbled mozzarella balls and artichokes, put it back on the grill for 10 more minutes
  6. Remove from the grill and top it off with remaining ingredients: half the arugula, remaining crumbled mozzarella, parmesan shavings, other half of arugula, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, pine nuts, and lemon juice
  7. enjoy!
